Probably a bit grandiose a name for its current state, but I hope to grow it over time.

As I've said before, it's a bit of a narrative mess, as I tend to just pick up on ideas as I go. Expect some long-winded parts that don't need to be there, and other parts that need a lot more expansion. If there are any funny parts in it they'll likely be punctured by a lack of timing or context. I do tend to ramble.

But, the request was to write down as much of what's in my head as possible, so it's quantity over quality at this stage. Your feedback is always welcome, so let me know what you think in this thread. I'll bump it as I add new stuff or change things. Questions, if they're answered, will likely be in the form of additions or addenda to the document itself, so I'll try to point those out if they occur.

Might just make you mad, but I'm gonna ask anyway: Are HYBRIDS enemies an option your considering? I know I'm jumping the gun by miles, but you shouldn't limit yourself to only the "pure races" when you can get some interesting, visuals, enemies, plot, going with certain hybrids... just wanted to state an opinion... don't hate me.

It's fine, haha. Hybrid races are definitely on the table.

SUPER EXCITED! love things like this, love reading background info, how things work, etc. I'm one of those gamers who plays things for story (which is why i DIDNT have a problem with FFXIII) so things like this get me hyped. But no rush, writing takes time (as i learned recently X.X)

An extensive lore is the most enjoyable thing i can imagine if it is somehow readable , be it the books in skyrim or the beginning of an as of yet disjointed pitch of ideas for your ideal gameworld to host Carnal Souls.
i am reading on average 800 pages per day so the more you write the more fun i will have.
would be nice if the document stays after launch so backer and patreon people can have more or less the entire worlds story in one place. ( maybe even with character background stories in the future)

P.s. good to see more communication from the Carnal Souls team ,while it does not bother me , it's still a fact that open communication , even without actual things to mention helps generate trust and therefore funding.

    Oh, snoot.

Benji. Buddy, your tongue. I think it's stuck in your cheek. Like, its really jammed up in there. How did you get it stuck so far? Do you need some help? I think you need to calm down, friend. Take a deep breath. Chew some gum. Let the muscles relax.

There we go. Better now? Good.

    So:

By the nose! That was a lot less serious than I thought it was going to be, but if that's the tone for the rest of the game I'm not gonna complain. I think a light and silly, whimsical attitude is a good one to bring to a porno fantasy RPG extravaganza. I actually enjoyed it a lot, so you have me won over on that mark already.

On Gods and Demons, I approve of the moral ambiguous-ness. The concepts are cool and the possible interactions many. I like the idea of a God just chilling with his Demon bud on their off day. It's amusing and atypical. Neato.

All hail the All-Smell! (What the fuck, Benji. That's awesome.)

One, the Skywarren sounds awesome. That's the kind of fantasy locale I want to see. Fucking pillars in the ocean. So cool. Two, it's interesting that the Lapen are so hush hush about sex while simultaneously being so gung-ho about it. How, exactly, did that mindset develop in their society? To save face with the other races of the world? Kind of seems like they're ashamed of enforcing the bunny-fucking stereotype. Also, incest. Yes.

I support the Undead Legion for a Simpler Life. I think I'll buy their sticker later. I stand with you, ghost brothers. Princes can farm too.

Luud just sounds like a crazy magical rock trying to blow all the fantasy cliche's to little cliche bits. Honestly, I really like what you've got so far. Not what I was expecting, but something I can get behind. I await further brain vomit. This first batch was frucking weird, but awesome.

    Thanks very much, @Godwin!

There'll be some more serious (or possibly just less silly) themes coming. I have more stuff about the princes and the royalty that followed, specifically Duchess Hangmoor and her family.

I like parts of the Lapen but not all of it, not wholly sure where I want to go with them yet. It's close but doesn't quite fit together yet. That'll probably be the first thing I change next I work on it.

Thank you for the feedback :3

    Benji.
    That was absurd.
    I love it.

Oooone thing though. Luud doesn't have an actual sun, but it has a sun god? That's a touch different.
Not at all unworkable, just... odd.

Also, wouldn't the Gape (heh) technically be a white hole, not a black one?

And, oh, cool, undead? Nice, nice, that could be interest-
    "Dun Breavin"?
    Is that... Did you...
    Am I seeing puns?

You sly man. I've got my eye on you.

Yeah the sun god part was an oversight on my part. Glad you enjoyed it though!

I love the a bit lighter touches/humor you have in the world building, not to mention the few jabs. :D

Definitely liking the not quite so dark setting to the game. Of course there still could be and likely has been wars and more fighting. And the magical origin of the beast people and their animal counterparts still being there makes it so that they can enjoy hamburgers(if some wise cook manages to think up such wondrous food). :3

Yeah because I was thinking about writing a wolf/elf hybrid character from a rare race of elf-wolfboys/girls... Yeah, Nizzjipple totaly stole that question from me :p (Race characteristics vary from elf-like ears, canine teeth and clawed hands at least to wolf ears, furred hands, wolf genitalia at most; they're shuned upon for being of impure breed, considered very attractive and hunted/enslaved to be sex workers, and they might have a problem with lycanthropy).

    ---

I am reading this and I am crying xD

It's feels like... Terry Pratchett at his best. A lot like Pratchett. But with sex.

Okay now, will post more once I finish what's there :D

    Edit:

    Okay. Phew.

This is really excellently written, the tone is perfect, the races are perfectly described, some real surprising stuff (Rabbits' sexuality, for example, and the taboo on it), I'm in love with this.

    However, four questions:

    1) The amount of races described here is quite limited. What about rarer races? I suppose the army was quite varied and certainly various non-documented species were a part of it. Still, how exactly rare are they? Can we just *bump* into a, say, lion-morph, or have a whole questline devoted to finding one?

    2) Were there animal-morph races before the battle? Not commonplace, but would, say, writing an ancient anubis-like deity for an egypt-inspired setting be too much? Can there be non-uplifted morphs? Say, a mystic demigod owl-morph created by the wild magic in the forest?

    3) The amount of lore for each race is quite big. How does that affect the player character? Will each scene have to account for the player's race ("I know you wolves aren't shy about sex, so... *Cough* By the Nose, is that a '24 Bordeaux?!" - "I know it might be of upmost shock to you, mr. Rabbit, but could we go and have wild gay sex in the backroom, or did I just insult you?"), or will the player be, ugh, *freshly morphed* and not really considered a part of any given starting species?

    4) How intelligent are feral morphs? Of course this probably varies, and it's not human-level intelligence, sure, but can they speak? Can there be borderline feral/docile specimens?

And now I have an idea for why the wolf/elf race might not be liked by the wolves. They don't have the Nose!

Thanks so much, @Farlun! "Terry Pratchett at his best" - that just made my whole month. Honestly I don't feel close to approaching the solar system in which he's at his worst, but it's very affirming to hear that, thank you :)

    1) They're the planned races for now. :) I have more coming for rarer species that were much more experimental, as well as the possibility of a group secretly continuing Crickett's magic in the current day.

    2) There were some, yes. Centaurs, Driders, Nagas, Fauns, Minotaurs, things like that. It's likely one of Crickett's more potent rationalisations; gods and other forces have been splicing up humans and animals for ages.

    3) I hope to include flavourful things like that as much as I can, but obviously the potential for getting bogged down in details is pretty high. The player's not freshly made, though.

    4) Ferals are typically animals that were transformed but only physically, so they essentially behave as their wild counterparts. So I guess the possibility for domestication is there.

Okay so I just sat down and read it for real, and about burst out laughing when the horse landed on the Leon's head. But the best part was " I just want my own potato patch man :( but my bro said no! "

In fact IF the current kings' a dick or similar I can hear people who support him mockingly chant "For king and cabbage patch eh?"

I'm very curious to see what's in store for the angels. Wondering if they are the antithesis to the imps (i.e. lesser gods) or where exactly they fall in the God v Demon dichotomy, if they aren't just there own thing of course. It could be interesting to see angels who prefer to be in the Underworld instead of on Mount Everything. Especially if angels have the usual, sort of biblical role.

Yeah, they seem a bit out of place in this very Greek-style pantheon. Do they serve the Gods, or are they their own independent body? Kind of like another, altruistic God race divined by the people to be Luuden protectors.

Reading these last two post gave me an idea: What if the demon's arose after the beast races emergence and started swaying those said confused, impressionable races to a more primitive mindset. I.e Benji didn't imply a lick of rampant sexuality in the beginning of his little prelude - only after, in the races synopsis.

The demons could have polluted the early minds of said races, telling them that they could easily overpower and take what they wanted from their creators. The angels/'true gods' could have sensed war and discord on the horizon and granted certain individual(s) in the world the ability to manipulate the essences (aka both human qualities and bestially alike) to either, gain trust with the races, show that mixing of the races is possible and should not be feared, get Mr. snuffles down the tree and maybe not let your baser urges dictate ever aspect of your life.

But they failed or the first "everythingborn" decided to follow a split path both defying angels and demons alike and dragging each of their patron gods together and forcing them to fuck and play nice, allowing both sides equal influence in the world (after the demon's learnt the ways of "loving" sex and the angels learnt of the pure mindless glory that is raw untamed lust, anyway)

And maybe the story is hundreds of years later during a time of (mostly) peace when something unknown or even worse than the extremes of both sides show up. (or the current demon god is being a complete willy)

Where some people inherit those age old qualities of manipulating the essences arise in a time of great need...

IDK, sounds a bit like CoC in that regard, but it just some ideas to throw around.

Oh! slightly better idea. What if both the angels and demons fought for so long without the other budging an inch, that both sides were forced to come to an agreement: They infuse BOTH of there respected powers into an individual. Think about it, the demons infused the everything born with the power to control there body: SHAPE (shape as in vanity and sexual equipment) the angels infused the everything born with the power of what most people commonly accept as the actual essence (the various races ascetics and their powers)

They then set this person in the world as a guinea pig to see which side more powerful/ which quality the person would use to guide his life/ send the world into chaos or bring about dull, but safe peace. As I said in my earlier paragraph he/she/whatever would choose both and drag each god physically together, force them to screw and using there flowing "liquid love" - write up a cum stained document. Each of them signed in the midst of there after-sex-glow before they even knew what was going on. And now both influence the world 50/50 (you know kinda like a bizarre reverse divorce, only slightly less terrifying).

The newly appointed but skilled attorney Sir Dahndi Dick Longy was present during the signing and everything was super official for realsies.

Everyone starts somewhere. I mean, compare Pratchett's Guards Guards with like, Night Watch. Two books in the same series with the same characters, but the later is just so much more than its predecessor.
