At this point, I just want some faction with at least a little depth. Anything would do, really. Few games in the genre have gotten to a point where they can implement something particularly deep. TiTS might get there eventually, but so far they have the nursery to deal with before all else. I get the feeling Carnal Souls will be more of an epic adventure quest rather than a political minded intrigue game, but something of the sort would be appreciated on the small scale. Fuck, dude, if I could just roleplay some lowly scribe whiling away his time in musty libraries between documenting magical (and natural) phenomenon in the world, all in the name of Knowledge - the great Equalizer - I'd be set. It'd be boring as shit sometimes, but dammit, I have yet to play something that would give me the luxury of being mundane. I love pack politics. In general, I'm a fan of most settings which harbor secret societies of magical creatures hiding from the world at large. Things like Vampire: the Masquerade are great. That said, I dunno if they'd be that secret in a world like Luud. When you have magic pouring into the world from a hole in the sky and a vast assortment of species uplifted from common animals, I don't think blood sucking undead and moon-struck man beasts would be all that surprising. Certainly, they could have their own societies and organizations, but I figure most people would know about them. God damn, I wouldn't even suspect.
